HIKE

Hazard and Impact Knowledge for Europe
2018
The HIKE Project includes 19 partner organisations from 14 countries and aims to develop an Europe-wide fault data base together with a knowledge sharepoint of of induced hazards and impact related to the exploitation of the subsurface in Europe.

The HIKE project aims to support research and assessments of induced hazards and impacts that are related to the exploitation of subsurface resources and capacities throughout Europe. This will be achieved through development, demonstration and implementation of harmonized subsurface data sets and methodologies, investigation of applied use cases, and facilitation of knowledge shared between geological surveys and stakeholders. GBA is involved in the development of the fault database structure and the implementation of national data into the fault data base (WP2). In addition, GBA is leading Task 2.3, where approaches are tested for advanced fault characterization based on geophysical subsurface data. Furthermore, GBA is responsible for coordination between HIKE and the GeoERA IP Project (WP5).
