On December 3rd a Special Course on Geoelectrical Monitoring – 4D Data Inversion and Monitoring Instrumentation (J.-H. Kim, R. Supper) will be held at the Geological Survey of Austria, Vortragssaal, Neulinggasse 38, 1030 Vienna (max. number of participants: 20). We still have some free places!

As the big success of the “1st Workshop on Geoelectrical Monitoring”, held 2011 in Vienna, proved, geoelectrical monitoring is one of the most innovative emerging branches in the area of applied geophysics within recent years. It is now applied to solve problems in key areas of public and political interest, such as natural hazard mitigation, agriculture optimization, CO2 storage and groundwater exploration. To foster scientific discussion and to support cooperation among the scientific groups, the Geological Survey of Austria (GSA) invites to the “Second International Workshop on Geoelectrical Monitoring”.

Within three days, more than 50 speakers are going to present state-of-the-art results on geoelectrical monitoring. Significant time will also be reserved for discussion of special topics, whereas two special discussion groups will focus on “Temperature correction of geoelectric monitoring data” and “Quality assessment of monitoring data”, respectively. A Panel Discussion on future perspectives of geoelectrical monitoring, and especially possible applications to hydrocarbon exploration, will close the workshop.

For registration to the workshop, please send the Registration Form until November 25th via e-mail to Stefanie Gruber. Details on payment options for the conference fee are listed in the 3rd Circular.
