The Information Services Division at the geological survey is the interaction point between knowledge gaining and knowledge mediation. It plays a centre role in knowledge management.
With its three departments (IT & GIS; Library, Archive, Publishing Unit; Geoinformation) the division assures that the scientists of the survey use modern IT to present their outcomes in adequate form. Either by conventional printing or in digital form the results are further addressed to the interested audience. The scientists have access to all possible forms of Information gathering, starting from a specialized library, internal databases and the World Wide Web to gain access to information of other earth scientific institutions.
